Frances Awcock AM - Civil Celebrant

Funeral Service - Melbourne Australia

Arranging a funeral is usually a distressing matter for all concerned.   It often means you are trying to think clearly when your emotions are raw and you are feeling fragile and unable to make wise decisions.

Lindsay and Simone

While the funeral director will organize all the necessary arrangements that follow a person's death, I can assist you with practical arrangements for the ceremony, however simple or complex you wish it to be.  I will liaise with the funeral director on your behalf, should you want me to do so.  Ranging from funeral ceremonies for those who have held high office to those whose life has been entirely lived in the private domain, I have a wealth of ceremonial experience for you to draw on.   Noted as a public speaker, I am able to draw on a variety of ceremony with readings and music to suit your needs.  It is important for those who mourn to feel assured that the ceremony will be a fitting recognition of the person's life and usually a form of celebration of that life, no matter how long or short it has been.

For those who have lost a child at birth or shortly afterwards, I can offer a very special ceremony to give the bereaved parents some form of comfort at a time of tragic loss.  This recognizes that no matter how fitting that ceremony might be, no words or music can replace that child.  They can offer only a small measure of comfort and a memory to treasure for the future.
