She is a well known member of the community in many parts of Australia and especially in Victoria and South Australia and has been made a Member of the Order of Australia for her work and community contribution. She has served in South Australia as the State Librarian and Director of the State Library and in Victoria as Chief Executive Officer of the State Library of Victoria and State Librarian as well as in many other significant positions.

Her interpersonal and public speaking skills are highly regarded, with many community groups and professional associations having drawn upon them for well over a decade.  She is an experienced MC and has conducted many types of ceremony, from celebrations to funerals, from recent radio programs to an early children’s television program.  So whether it is a marriage, a re-affirmation of vows, a naming ceremony , a memorial ceremony or a funeral, then she is well experienced and credentialed to perform it for you.
